What homeowners build

One backyard, many possibilities.

In-law suite

“We built a 600 sf ADU so Mom could live close but keep her independence. Best decision we’ve made.”

Rental income

“The backyard unit rents for enough to cover most of our mortgage. It paid for itself faster than we expected.”

Home office

“I finally have a real workspace separate from the house — quiet, and it added value to the property.”

Adult kid moving home

“Our son moved back for grad school. The garage conversion gave him his own space and us our house back.”

The people behind it

Local builders who treat your home like their own.

Founder

Edgar Vidal

Edgar got his start watching someone build wooden model homes — the attention to detail sparked a lifelong interest in architecture. Attending school and building up in firms gave him deep experience understanding building codes and, furthermore, investments in residential construction. What we can do that a generic tool can't is calculate the investment across all disciplines, including design, entitlements, strategic builds, and returns.

One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to DDB is the consistency. From day one, the communication is always clear, and your team has solid systems in place that keep everything moving. From the initial design phase, through city comments, and all the way to getting plans approved, I always know where the project stands and what the next steps are. That level of organization and follow-through makes the process a lot smoother and gives me confidence that the project is in good hands.
